    Quick answer

Where can I advertise a pet business in the UK?

PetTrader lists UK pet businesses in a pets-only directory: licensed breeders, pet shops, groomers, trainers, walkers, sitters, boarding, day care, vets and rescues. A directory subscription is £10 a month or £100 a year, breeder plans run from £15 to £35 a month depending on the animals you breed, and pet shops and veterinary practices are £45 a month or £450 a year. The first 200 trade members to join get their entire first year free.

    • Your own business page, indexed by Google in its own right
    • Listed on the directory pages for your service and your town

    • Identity checks on every seller, so buyers trust what they find
    • One free news post, one free event and one free job advert each year

Directory listing £10 a month or £100 a year. Breeder plans £15 to £35 a month depending on the animals you breed. Pet shops and veterinary practices £45 a month or £450 a year. Annual plans are twelve months for the price of ten.

The first 200 trade members to join get their whole first year free — there is no charge at all until the 12 months are up, and you can cancel any time before renewal.

How it works for pet businesses

Pick the page that fits your business

Each trade has its own page below explaining exactly what is included, what the licensing position is and what it costs. If you do several things — grooming and boarding, breeding and stud — one subscription covers the business and extra categories come in discounted bundles.

Every seller here is identity checked

Before any pet advert goes live the seller passes a photo ID check matched against a live selfie. It takes a couple of minutes once, and it is the reason buyers here behave differently to buyers on free classified sites — they arrive expecting a real, traceable business rather than an anonymous phone number.

    What your profile page shows

Your business gets its own page: description, photos, the pet types and areas you cover, opening hours, phone, website, prices if you want to publish them, and any licences or registrations you hold. It is indexed by Google in its own right, so people searching for your service in your town can find it directly.

How long it takes to get listed

Joining, filling in your contact details and your business details takes around ten minutes on a phone. There is nothing to install and no sales call — you fill the form, claim your free first year and your page is live.

    Common questions

What does it cost to list a pet business?+

A directory listing is £10 a month or £100 a year. Breeder plans are £15 to £35 a month depending on the animals you breed, and pet shops and veterinary practices are £45 a month or £450 a year. The first 200 trade members to join get their first year free.

    Do I need a council licence?+

Only for licensable activities: breeding, boarding, day care, selling animals as a business and hiring out horses. Grooming, training, walking and sitting in the owner's home need no licence, and nothing on the sign-up asks you for one.

Do I have to pay anything to join right now?+

No. The first 200 breeders, pet shops, veterinary practices and pet service businesses to join get a completely free first year. You add a card so the subscription continues afterwards, but nothing is taken during those 12 months and you can cancel before renewal.

    Can I cancel?+

Yes, at any time from your dashboard. Your listing stays live until the end of the period you have paid for (or the end of your free year), and you are not charged again.

Will my business page show up on Google?+

Your page has its own web address and is submitted in our sitemap, so it can be found in search on its own — as well as through our directory pages for your service and your area.
