What cookies are
Cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) are small pieces of data saved by your browser. PetTrader uses them sparingly and only where they serve a clear purpose.
Cookies we use
- Essential — sign-in session. Keeps you logged in as you move between pages and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. The site cannot work without these.
- Essential — drafts and preferences. Remembers unfinished adverts, saved favourites and your search filters so you do not lose work.
- Payments. Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout pages to process your payment securely and detect fraud. See Stripe's cookie notice on stripe.com.
- Analytics. We record anonymous page views (page URL, referring site, rough device type) to see which pages are useful. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used, and we do not sell data to advertisers.
What we do not use
No third-party advertising networks, no retargeting pixels, and no social media tracking tags.
Your choices
When you first visit we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Choosing "Essential only" means no page-view analytics are recorded for you — the rest of the site still works. Your choice is stored on your device; clearing your browser data will make the banner appear again so you can change it.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and prevent listing creation and checkout from working.
