Advertise your boarding, daycare, walking or sitting business

Kennels, cattery, home boarding, day care, walking or sitting — one page showing your licence, your setup and the areas you cover.

    Quick answer

Where can I advertise dog boarding or day care?

A directory subscription on PetTrader is £10 a month or £100 a year and covers boarding kennels, catteries, home boarding, day care, dog walking and pet sitting. Boarding and day care do need a council licence under the 2018 regulations, and there is a field to display yours; walking and sitting do not. The first 200 trade members join free for a year.

How it works for boarding, daycare, walking & sitting

Show your licence and star rating

Boarding kennels, catteries, home boarding and day care all need a licence from the local council, and most owners now ask for the star rating before they ask the price. Both have their own fields on your page, so they are visible rather than something a customer has to phone up and ask about.

Walking and sitting need no licence

Dog walking and pet sitting in the owner's own home are not licensable, so you can list straight away. If you also board animals overnight in your own home, that part does need a licence.

    What your profile page shows

Your business gets its own page: description, photos, the pet types and areas you cover, opening hours, phone, website, prices if you want to publish them, and any licences or registrations you hold. It is indexed by Google in its own right, so people searching for your service in your town can find it directly.

How long it takes to get listed

Joining, filling in your contact details and your business details takes around ten minutes on a phone. There is nothing to install and no sales call — you fill the form, claim your free first year and your page is live.

    Common questions

    Do I need a council licence?+

For boarding kennels, catteries, home boarding and day care, yes — it is required under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. For dog walking and for sitting in the owner's home, no.

I offer several of these — do I pay for each?+

No. One subscription covers your business, and extra directory categories come in discounted bundles of three, five or ten.

Do I have to pay anything to join right now?+

No. The first 200 breeders, pet shops, veterinary practices and pet service businesses to join get a completely free first year. You add a card so the subscription continues afterwards, but nothing is taken during those 12 months and you can cancel before renewal.

    Can I cancel?+

Yes, at any time from your dashboard. Your listing stays live until the end of the period you have paid for (or the end of your free year), and you are not charged again.

Will my business page show up on Google?+

Your page has its own web address and is submitted in our sitemap, so it can be found in search on its own — as well as through our directory pages for your service and your area.
