Mittens is a lovely affectionate girl with a playful side! She is just over 2 years old and has been spayed and microchipped - however she will need her vaccination. She is great with kids but I would recommend potentially 4 yrs+ as when she plays she does often have her claws out , however she has never hurt our 2 year old. Would like for her to go to a home with lots of love to give!

Tabatha is a mixed breed but predominantly british blue. She is 1 year and 8 months old. She is a lovely, playful, calm and affectionate young cat. I am rehoming because my mothers health has suddenly deteriorated and I need to fill the gaps when the carers are not there. Which means Tabatha is left alone in the house and gardens. She had a routine visit to the vet last week and she is in good health and up to date with all vaccinations. She is registered with Pet Plan until next summer and is registered with a Micro-chip company. She is a lovely, playful companion and I would like her to find a home with a responsible family who are prepared to pay for pet insurance and will register her with their vets.

Buying a Domestic Shorthair in London

Domestic Shorthair adverts in London come from local breeders, private owners and rescues, who are asked to complete a photo ID and live selfie check — look for the Verified badge. Typical prices sit around £0–£250 (rescue adoption fees typically £70–£150), and demand in and around London means good litters are often reserved quickly — message the seller through PetTrader rather than paying a deposit off-site.

    • Check the seller's badges

Look for Verified, Licensed Breeder, KC Registered or Insured badges on London adverts — each one is confirmed by our team against uploaded paperwork.

    • View at the seller's home

Under Lucy's Law, kittens must be seen with their mother at the place they were bred. Never meet at a car park, station or motorway services near London.

    • Ask for local paperwork

Request the microchip number, vet records, worming and vaccination dates, plus the council licence number if the seller is a licensed breeder in London.

    • Set your travel radius

Use the distance filter with your postcode to see Domestic Shorthair adverts within 10, 25 or 50 miles of London instead of scrolling the whole country.

    • Budget beyond the price

On top of the £0–£250 (rescue adoption fees typically £70–£150) purchase price, plan for insurance, food, vaccinations and neutering — ongoing costs in London are usually higher than rural areas.

    • Pay safely

Keep conversations in PetTrader messaging, never pay by bank transfer to hold an animal you haven't seen, and report anything that feels wrong to our team.

How much does a Domestic Shorthair kitten cost in the UK?+

Domestic Shorthair kittens usually sell for £0–£250 (rescue adoption fees typically £70–£150) in the UK. Registered pedigree kittens from health-tested parents sit at the top of that range; unregistered kittens sell for less.

What should I check before buying a Domestic Shorthair kitten?+

Kittens should be at least 8–12 weeks old, litter trained, wormed, and ideally vaccinated and microchipped. Microchipping is a legal requirement for cats in England by 20 weeks of age. Ask to see the mother and request GCCF or TICA papers where the kitten is sold as pedigree.

Is a Domestic Shorthair good with children and other pets?+

Domestic Shorthairs generally settle well into busy homes when introduced calmly and given somewhere quiet to retreat to. Supervise young children until the kitten is confident.
